ABOUT THIS COURSE
What you'll learn:
Be empowered to become a confident, versatile, social dancer. We'll introduce you to the basics of 6 of the most popular Latin dance styles: Salsa, Merengue, Forró, Bachata, Brazilian Zouk and Samba. You'll learn the differences in the music and movement for each style as well as basic steps that will see you feeling the challenge, joy and rewards of Latin Dance and our vibrant community.
Duration:
Ten weeks, one hour class per week. Optional social activities & supporting resources included.

Tuesdays 5.40-6.25pm Latin Dance Starter Individuals (Individual Dancing)

Saturdays 5.45-6.30pm Latin Dance Starter Couples (Partner Dancing, with your partner)

COMMON QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE
Location Studio 1, 163 Boundary Street. Studio 2 is a 1min walk up the street. Please join us in Studio 1 when commencing your first course.
Do I need a partner? If enrolling in the Latin Dance Starter for Couples course you must dance with your partner and your partner must be from the same household you live in. If enrolling in the individual course, no partner required and you will be learning in your own dance space individually.
What should I wear? Be comfortable and wear what suits you, you'll find people are casual or may have come straight from work. You need to be able to move freely. For footwear we recommend leather or hard rubber sole shoes to allow for pivoting comfortably on wooden floors. You don't need special dance shoes to begin.
Is there parking? Street parking is available on Boundary St. and nearby local streets. Buses run frequently along Boundary St.
Need to miss a class? We understand & we're flexible. You can make-up a missed class in an equivalent class within your course period where available.
What's changed due to covid-19?
Due to covid-19 restrictions, social gatherings typically included in your ten week course will not be offered at this stage. During the period of restrictions, you will receive an additional enrolment gift of our Latin Dance Starter on-demand online course as a supplementary learning offering.
The services and the studio space have also been changed, to meet all Government requirements. This includes full procedures for class start and finish and an updated studio layout with strict headcount limits. We will guide you through the class flow and procedures when you start.
