Alert! Class Name Changes for 2025

We’ve given our class names a fresh update for 2025, but don’t worry—the amazing vibes remain the same. Here’s what’s new:

👉 Starter is now Beginners (with two streams):

• Beginners A and Beginners B

👉 Foundation is now Level 2

👉 Intermediate is now split:

• Level 3 (previously Intermediate 1)
• Level 3.5 (previously Intermediate 2)

👉 Upper Intermediate is now Level 4

👉 Advanced is now Level 5

Same classes, just fresh names to make things easier. 

 

When Can I Start?

New Beginners Courses start every 5 weeks!

• Look for Beginners A courses in GREEN.
• Look for Beginners B courses in PURPLE.

 

DANCE COURSE LEVELS AT RIO RHYTHMICS

Beginner Level
Open to Everyone – No Prerequisites

Our Beginner courses are designed with 30 years of expertise to help you step into the vibrant world of Latin dance. Whether you’re brand-new or just want a fun new challenge, this is the perfect place to start. No prior experience? No worries!

Level 2 (Previously Foundation)
Prerequisite: Some prior experience in social or partnered dancing.

For those who’ve completed Beginners or have a grasp of basic Latin partner dancing, Level 2 explores a diverse range of styles. You’ll build essential skills in leading, following, and social dance techniques.

Level 3 & Level 3.5 (Previously Intermediate)
Prerequisite: Completion of Level 2 (20 weeks) or 6+ months of partnered dancing.

At these levels, you’ll deepen your skills in specific styles, mastering critical movements and honing floor craft, technique, and leading/following nuances.

Level 4 (Previously Upper Intermediate)
Prerequisite: Completion of Level 3/3.5 (30 weeks) or 12+ months of partnered dancing.

By Level 4, you’ve mastered core movements and turns, and you’re ready to dive into complex footwork, dynamic music, and authentic styling. It’s all about refining your dance dialogue!

Level 5 (Previously Advanced)
Prerequisite: Completion of Level 4 (30 weeks) or 18+ months of partnered dancing.

Welcome to the pinnacle of your dance journey! Level 5 focuses on evolving your skills, blending traditional and modern styles, and staying on top of the latest trends. This is a continuous level where learning and development never stop.
